INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA-2019

SITM celebrates INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA-2019 with full fervor and in accordance with Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) participants from student community faculty members and non-teaching members. People from neighboring community also took part in the programme.
  Experts from Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture were invited to grace the occasion. With collaboration from Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, the programme was conducted in a phased and disciplined manner and various activities were undertaken to popularize Yoga activities and its benefits in everyday life.

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
    1. DISCOURSE ON YOGA, ITS BENEFITS FOR PEACE & TRANQUILITY.
The expert, Mrs. Kiran Taporia from Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Guwahati appraised the members presents about the necessity of Yoga to deals with the stressful life of the students community as well as other people of the community. The stressed on the concept of making Yoga as their “Life Style” and lead a stress free life. She also spoke on as why 21st June is celebrated as International Yoga Day. She informed the members about the history of Yoga and its impact on society.

    2. QUIZ COMPETITION
It was conducted by Ms. Chandni from Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Guwahati about the past history, present status, importance and benefits of Yoga. Students, Teachers and other staff also participated in this competition with great enthusiasm.
    3. EXTEMPORE SPEECH
Extempore speech was also organized amongst the students on the topic “YOGA FOR STRESS FREE LIFE”.
    4. WORKSHOP ON YOGA ACTIVITIES
A workshop on Yoga was conducted by Mr. Kiran Taporia, Yoga Expert, Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Guwahati where she gave lessons on how Yoga can be inducted in our daily routine and make it as an integral part of our life and get benefitted from it. People from neighboring community, students and faculties participated in the workshop. At the end Books on Yoga was distributed amongst the participants.
    Thus 21st June, 2019 International Day of Yoga was celebrated with full enthusiasm and activities. To popularize the programme banners, posters, flyers & badges were distributed and displayed in and around the neighborhood of the Institution.
